The Shape Machine

Sky Textures

Important: To see the proper effects of textures you should change the lighting to 'white,' <10 10 10>. Otherwise the light color will change the default color for the texture.

Textures are predefined colors and finishes that may be applied to a shape.

If you use a Texture you can also use any Basic Feature except 'object color', and you cannot user any Advanced Feature.

All sample Texture images are made with two white lights, one at the top left and one at the bottom left of the object.

Texture and lights
Again, important: The 'default' lights include a red light at the top left, a blue light at the top right, and a green light at the bottom center. If you use a texture you will need to adjust the lights to achieve the colors seen in the sample images. To set a light to 'white' set the <R G B> values of a light to the same value, such as <10 10 10>.

All texture samples are rendered at high resolution, and converted to GIF format with the '216 color web safe' palette.

Caveat: The three 'cloud' textures are extremely complex and require an inordinate amount of time to render.
